Jewelry
I hand fabricate contemporary jewelry, combining modern designs, unique construction and natural materials. I strive to create a piece of art which not only adorns the body but enhances the individual’s natural beauty. I incorporate metals, stones and natural materials to create a unique piece of jewelry.
Raw and alloyed metals are worked with saw, hammer, torch and file to create individual designs. I sometimes use a rolling mill to emboss individual pieces of metal with natural materials such as corn husk or leather, giving the metal an organic texture. I incorporate different metals, stones, wood and other natural materials in my jewelry. I make each piece in my home studio. I have no employees or assistants to do the work for me. This assures that each piece is truly one of a kind and created by my own hand.
Making jewelry has allowed me to transform images of the world I see around me into functional works of art. Throughout my life I have always been intrigued by form, color and design. I continue to try and find new ways to manipulate my materials and express my impressions of the world around me. I hope you enjoy and appreciate the work and dedication that goes into each piece of jewelry.
